2011-2013 in ‘Lohorung and Nepali Spoken Language’ project funded by Swedish Research Council at the Department of Linguistics, Gothenborg University, Sweden and Centre for Communication and Development Studies, Lalitpur, Nepal under leadership of Professor Jens Allwood and Professor Madhav Prasad Pokharel.

Responsibilities: Planning; leading the linguistic team on data (audio-video) collection, Transcription, analysis for spoken corpus of both the Lohorung and Nepali languages, and multilingual multimodal dictionary of Lohorung language; coordinating with the language community, writing research papers. http://desceco.org.np

March 1, 2005 to December 15 2007 Nepali Language Resources and Localization for Education and Communication (NeLRaLEC, Bhasha Sanchar) Project at Patandhoka, worked as a researcher under leadership of Professor Pat Hall and Professor Yogendra Prasad Yadava, Central Department of Linguistics, Tribhuvan University

Responsibilities1. For Stakeholder Survey: discussing questionnaire and field visit for resources and the needs on Language technology; 2. For Nepali National Corpus (written): text collection, Mark up tagging, POS tag set designing and POS tagging; (Spoken): planning recordings, collecting texts, preparing transcription manual, transcription, managing files, and writing report; 3. For Nepali Text-to-speech: preparing the phone set, preparing diaphone set, gathered words and sentences containing all the available diphones in Nepali, collecting and syllabification of the high frequent words, collecting abnormal text and normalizing it; 4. For Contemporary Nepali Dictionary: preparing POS for dictionary, entry writing, editing.
